Principal's Message

Dear Thunderbird Parents and Students:

On behalf of the Kastner staff, I would like to welcome our 1132 students and their families to Kastner’s 37th year of providing a quality education to the students of the Clovis Unified School District.

During the past 36 years, the Kastner staff has provided outstanding curriculum instruction and excellence in its co-curricular activities.  Our district’s theme this year is, “Be the Difference.” Kastner’s motto is “Breaking Barriers.”

We begin a new year with a focus on meeting goals of academic excellence, supremacy in athletics and performing arts, a safe environment, and a clean and respected campus. High results in each of the four categories will again be our commitment for the 2017-2018 school year.

I again, extend an invitation to all our parent community in becoming involved in your child’s education.  As a staff we recognize the importance of a parent, student, and teacher, partnership - and your involvement is crucial.  Below are two ways that involvement can be achieved; communication and participation.

Communication opportunities:

  1. Talk with your child about school
  2. Regularly contact your child’s teacher (notes, telephone, email, etc.)
  3. Research your child’s academic performance (Parent Connect-Zangle)
  4. Visit our campus

Participation Opportunities:

  1. Participate on school-wide councils
  2. Participate in the Parent Teacher Club (PTC) organization
  3. Volunteer to support the school and its programs

Speaking for the entire staff, we look forward to working with you and your child throughout the school year.  Should you have any questions, or need any assistance in any way, please feel free to contact your child’s Learning Director or me.
