Kastner Intermediate School Instrumental Music and Choral Programs (VAPA)

The Kastner Instrumental Music Department is made up of five different components:  Band (Brass, Woodwinds), Orchestra (Strings), Percussion, Choir and Colorguard.  Students may be a part of one or more of these ensembles.  If students choose to participate in more than one performing arts course they will be required to enroll in Zero Period PE (starts @ 6:45am, 5 days per week) or lunchtime PE (starts at the beginning of lunch, 5 days a week). All of our ensembles perform at several events:  concerts, festivals, parades, football games, rallies, assemblies, competitions, and other community events.  Some events are outside of the school day and student attendance is expected and will be part of the class grade.  Placement in all instrumental music and choral classes at Kastner is determined by the directors.
